Magpie on the Gallows
High above my head,
Tell me truly, maggot–pie,
Is my lover dead?
When he went away to war,
To me eternal love he swore
Tell me truly, bird of gloom,
Where his bed and what his doom?
From the gallows hear the magpie screech:
From now on your lover’s out of reach.
In a bed of mud he died
Soldiers slept at either side,
He has never been faithless dear,
And never will be now, I fear.
Magpie on the Gallows
Feathered white and black,
My brother went a–hunting
Will he not come back?
He was tall and he was strong,
Face was fair and limb was long.
Tell me truly, maggot–pie,
Did he live or did he die?
From the gallows hear the magpie scream
Now your brother is left alone to dream.
There’s no need for you to fret
He’s still fair to look at yet,
He lay in the snow to doze,
And while he slept the poor lad froze.
Magpie on the gallows
Where the death–rope creaks,

Sometimes a painter’s vision expresses and inspires what the zen philosopher’s words can only define and describe.
When remarkable lives defined by success and abundance are reviewed from their beginnings, it is remarkable that the narrowest of paths, sometimes a precarious balanci

The Shape of Things to ComeYou want change on DeviantArt. Everyone here has something they would change. We do listen and, yes, we can’t get everything done. Still, as a community, with any change we change together because we are all here together.spyed
We found major talent to join the DeviantArt team this year to help us assume responsibility for major change and deliver on it. In return, we will be calling on the whole community to exercise its responsibility of continuing to shape DeviantArt into the place where the global undercurrent of creativity feeds the future of popular culture.
DeviantArt is as binary as it is digital in its platform. We serve equally those who produce art as those who need to see art and engage with it. Creating the undercurrent is a function of tools as much as it is a function of community activity. Getting these two to work in unison has always been the secret sauce of DeviantArt – and every recipe for the sauce begins

For a few years I had declared that I was a "former CG artist"; that was from around 2010 to early 2013. I've recently started drawing again as a hobby, encouraged by co-workers & former co-workers, and given two opportunities to draw/illustrate for cash.|
I used to be a "professional" graphic designer for some small local advertising agencies here in Jakarta. I don't see me returning to that field yet any time soon. But I hope I can draw better and better still. We'll see )
